Thames&Kosmos Kids First Robot Pet Store offers a range of adorable mobile robot animals such as owls, bulldogs, sloths, etc. This entry-level mechanical engineering kit is suitable for children aged 5 and above. This 32 page beautifully illustrated storybook revolves around the adventure story of Omegas - a family of manufacturers and engineers that appeared in other Kids First early engineering kits.

This story takes the characters to a robot pet store where they encounter various adorable robot pets, including owls, French bulldogs, sloths, pandas, chameleons, cats, turtles, and rabbits. As the story progresses, children can build models of these eight robots and experiment with them to see how each robot moves in different ways using battery powered motors and mechanical components. The large and cubic plastic building blocks allow small hands to easily assemble models together.

Robot Pet Shop provides a fun way to teach simple engineering concepts to young children, laying the foundation for strong STEM related skills and understanding abilities for parents, teachers, and caregivers during early childhood. Model construction and experimentation can cultivate fine motor skills, mechanical engineering skills, visual spatial skills, as well as reasoning and concept development skills.
