  • The BlueROV2 (Acrylic - 100m) is an affordable, high-performance underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) known for its flexibility and expandability. It is available in 6 and 8 thruster configurations, supports a wide range of accessories, and runs open source software, making it a popular choice for underwater drones.

  • The BlueROV2 requires partial assembly and takes approximately 6-8 hours to complete. This assembly process gives the user a comprehensive understanding of the system components, making future upgrades and improvements easier.

  • The BlueROV2 is equipped with a high-resolution, wide-angle, low-light camera mounted on a tilt mechanism that allows the pilot to control the tilt of the camera for the best viewing angle. The ROV can be configured with 2 or 4 dimmable lumen lights, providing up to 6,000lm illumination for underwater environments.

  • The ROV features patented T2 thrusters in a vector configuration, providing a high thrust-to-weight ratio and precise movement in any direction. The standard 6-thruster setup can be expanded to 8 thrusters with a heavy-duty configuration retrofit kit, providing full 6-DOF control and enhanced stability. Adjustable gain levels give you precise control and high power at slow speeds to ride currents and haul heavy loads.

  • The BlueROV2 can be configured with either an acrylic plastic or anodized aluminum housing. The acrylic housing can withstand depths of 100 meters (328 feet), while the aluminum housing can withstand depths of up to 300 meters (984 feet). The ROV is made of high-quality components and comes with a vacuum test pump to ensure a good seal before every dive.

  • Designed with a modular frame, the BlueROV2 is rugged and expandable to accommodate a range of accessories, including an ROV gripper and scanning sonar. Payload rails allow the frame to be extended to mount larger payloads or accommodate scientific instruments, additional battery enclosures, and more. Users can modify the standard frame to create a custom underwater robot for specific applications.

  • The BlueROV2 comes with the Navigator flight controller and BlueOS. The Navigator is a dedicated controller for the ROV, equipped with onboard sensors such as an inertial measurement unit (IMU), magnetometer, and leak sensor. It has 16 outputs for connecting thrusters, lights, grippers, and other accessories, as well as multiple communication ports for sensors and sonar. The Navigator is paired with a Raspberry Pi 4 computer, running BlueOS, which manages vehicle control, camera and tethering connections, and facilitates software updates.

  • The pilot controls the ROV via a laptop and gamepad controller, using the open source QGroundControl application as the user interface. The application provides a live video stream, sensor feedback, and configuration settings.

  • BlueROV2 offers a variety of customization and expansion options, suitable for beginners to advanced ROV users.
