  • BlueRobotics BlueROV2 (Aluminum)
  • Supports depths up to 300 meters
  • Equipped with a high-resolution, low-light camera
  • Uses patented T2 thrusters for precise movement
  • Supports scalable, modular frame design
  • Controlled via live video via the QGroundControl app
  • The BlueRobotics BlueROV2 (Aluminum - 300 meters) is a high-performance underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) known for its affordability and versatility. With six and eight thruster configurations, a range of accessories, and open-source software, it is a highly flexible and scalable underwater exploration tool. The BlueROV2 has a wide range of applications and has been deployed in thousands of applications around the world.

  • Assembly takes about 6-8 hours, but it gives the user a comprehensive understanding of the system components, making future upgrades and improvements easier. The ROV is equipped with a high-resolution, wide-angle, low-light camera mounted on a tilt mechanism, allowing the operator to control the direction of the camera. The lighting system can be composed of 2 or 4 dimmable lumen lights, providing up to 6,000lm brightness to illuminate the underwater environment.

  • BlueROV2 features a patented T2 thruster vectoring configuration for a high thrust-to-weight ratio and precise movement in any direction. The standard six-thruster setup can be expanded to eight thrusters via a heavy-duty configuration retrofit kit, providing full six-degree-of-freedom control and enhanced stability. Adjustable gain levels enable precise control and high power at low speeds to carry heavy loads against currents.

  • The ROV can be constructed with either acrylic plastic or anodized aluminum housings, with depth ratings of 100 and 300 meters, respectively. Built with high-quality components, BlueROV2 has features such as a locking waterproof housing and a vacuum test pump to ensure a proper seal before every dive.

  • BlueROV2’s modular frame design allows for easy installation of accessories such as grippers and scanning sonars. Payload rails allow the frame to be extended to mount larger payloads or accommodate scientific instruments, additional battery housings, and more. Users can modify the standard frame to create a custom underwater robot for specific applications.

  • BlueROV2 comes with the Navigator flight controller and BlueOS. Designed specifically for ROVs, Navigator contains sensors such as an inertial measurement unit (IMU), magnetometers, and leak sensors. It has 16 outputs for connecting thrusters, lights, and other accessories, as well as multiple communication ports for sensors and sonar. Navigator pairs with a Raspberry Pi 4 computer running BlueOS, which manages vehicle control, camera and tethering connections, and facilitates software updates.

  • The pilot controls the ROV via a laptop and gamepad controller using the open-source QGroundControl application, which provides live video streaming, sensor feedback, and configuration options. Suitable for both beginners and advanced users, the BlueROV2 requires only a few additional components to operate: a laptop, a gamepad controller, batteries, and a charger.

  • Note: Always seal properly before diving to prevent water ingress.
